Boomoon was born in 1955, beginning from his first solo exhibition at the seoul press centre, he has continued to hold many solo exhibitions in places such as Seoul, Busan, Tokyo and Paris. Growing into an active middle – grade artist.
His works are housed in New York’s JGS Foundation, Japan’s Yokohama Museum, Hana Bank collections, Leeum Samsung Museum and Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA).
Boomoon’s work was also published in『Photograph As Contemporary Art』which was a summary of modern contemporary art (Charlotte Corton, London, 2004, Thames & Hudson publishers), as well as in 『 BLINK. 100PHOTOGRAPHERS 10CURATORS 10WRITERS』(London, 2002, Phaidon publishers). Nazraeli Press, being one of the USA’s leading professional photograph publishers, published 4 photo collections of Boomoon which goes by the name of the following: Boo Moon(1999), On the Clouds(2004), Stargazing at Sokcho(2006), Naksan(2010). One can say that Boomoon is the regional representative photographer of Daegu, South Korea.
1955년 대구 출생인 권부문은 1975년 서울 프레스센터에서 열었던 첫 개인전을 시작으로 서울, 부산, 대구, 동경, 파리에서 다수의 개인전을 통하여 가장 활발한 작품활동을 보이고 있는 중견작가이다.
작가의 작품은 뉴욕의 JGS Foundation, 일본 요코하마 미술관, 하나은행콜렉션, 리움삼성미술관, 국립현대미술관 등에 소장되어 있다.
또한, 현대예술사진을 총 정리한 Thames & Hudson 출판사의 『현대예술로서의 사진 Photograph As Contemporary Art』(샬럿 코튼, 런던, 2004)과 Phaidon 출판사의『블링크: 100사진작가, 10큐레이터, 10평론가 BLINK. 100PHOTOGRAPHERS 10CURATORS 10WRITERS』(런던, 2002)에 그의 작품이 실렸으며, 미국의 사진 전문 출판사 Nazraeli Press가 그의 사진집 4권 ― Boo Moon(1999), On the Clouds(2004), Stargazing at Sokcho(2006), Naksan(2010)을 펴낸 바 있는 지역 출신의 대표 사진작가이다
