Bronze sculptures stand in harmonious acquiescence, their black and white forms still on the exhibition hall floor covered in hanji—Korean mulberry paper. The white cube space of Johyun Gallery_Seoul, nested in Hotel Shilla, welcomes visitors onto the canvas-space. The amorphous compositions of the underground space in Seoul's downtown conjure echoes of our origins, resonating with the awe of discovering the ruins of a previous civilization. The audience is invited to stand in harmony with the works, while the gentle glow from the yellow window structure of the exhibition hall adds the wax and wane of transcendent time and life over the abstract calligraphic blacks and negative spaces.
한지로 도배된 바닥 위로 흑백의 브론즈 조각이 서로 조응하듯 서있다. 신라호텔에 위치한 조현화랑_서울의 단아한 공간이 하나의 화폭이 되어 관람객을 작품 안으로 초대한다. 도심 속 지하 공간을 가득 채우는 비정형의 구도는 문명 아래 묻혀있던 고대의 유적지를 발견할 때 마주하게 되는 경외심과도 유사한 근원에 대한 원초적 기억을 불러일으킨다. 작품에 초대되어 어우러지는 관람객, 그리고 노란빛 창문을 통해 작품에 은은하게 퍼지는 빛은 2차원과 3차원으로 구성된 흑백의 추상적 서체에 초월적 시간과 생명력을 더한다.
